Christmas 2008....and a few others

Never a dull moment here....
As with most holidays, this one followed true fashion with illness plaguing our family; both twins are now on antibiotics for double ear infections, while Cassie continues to recover from her pre-Christmas cold.  Although chaos, Christmas day was full of excitement (which was really too much for the toddler) and lots of gifts,  We spent our morning opening a few presents at our house and then headed to my sister's house to have breakfast and enjoy swapping gifts with my sister's family and dad until early afternoon.  With Cassie beyond exhaustion we headed home to relax for the rest of the day.  The last few days have been great recovery of simply relaxing, enjoying out time together and nursing out little ones back to health...

Christmas eve, headed to auntie Arlene's house

Noting like an evening bottle and  nap

Christmas snuggles

Opening gifts at MiMi and PaPa's house

Wow! Santa came! And he left chocolate under the tree!

Oh, and there are gifts too?

Check out all the stuff in this stocking!

Nothing like chocolate for breakfast

At this rate, we are going to be here until the new year opening gifts! (Needless to say, poor Cassie opened about 5 more things and decided that she'd had enough...)

Nothing like a little self feeding !

Hey, are those gifts under there for us?

Check out my fur-berry!

All tuckered out! And resting on my new frog pillow from the Franzia girls!

Enjoying our first Christmas stockings...
(and as you can see behind then, Santa got a little carried away)

With our big sister's help of course!

Fun toys for the whole family!

And the gift that keeps on giving...Cassie has been in this bounce house non-stop since we put it up the day after Christmas...definitely the best gift ever!

The annual trip to the mall....

....for the holiday photo with the mall Santa....which of course went as we expected:  the twins fell asleep right before it was our turn to sit on Santa's lap, and Cassie still wanted absolutely nothing to do with him...
The theme at our mall is the Polar Express, which happens to be Cassie's favorite holiday movie right now, so she was in heaven!  And we had the opportunity to take a photo at the end of the train, which Cassie preferred over Santa, so here is the Family Christmas Photo 2008, enjoy!

From December already!

So tell me Cassie, how do you feel about Santa?

From December already!

But thank goodness, the twins didn't seem to mind him!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is over already!!

Although I didn't take any Thanksgiving day pictures (I know, not like me at all!), we did have an amazing holiday - as my aunt and cousins from Syracuse, NY drove over to spend the day with us.  We started the day with the Manchester Road Race, a 4.75 mile road race that about 12,000 other runners enjoyed with us!  And this was followed by a great dinner out at my sister's house were the best part was just watching all the kids enjoy themselves!

We spent the rest of Thanksgiving weekend doing a little internet Christmas shopping, and going to pick out our tree and decorate the house.  Cassie is starting to understand a little of what this holiday is all about, and has taken to watching Rudolf and the cartoon version of the Grinch.  We think that she understand who Santa is and that he is going to come and bring her presents, I think that we are truly entering into the best years of the holiday season!

Here are a few photos of our little ones getting into the Christmas spirit! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is gearing up for the holidays!

Cassie is trying to pull out the Charlie Brown Christmas tree!

Mommy and the twins try to stay dry during the tree cutting process...

Posing for our holiday card!

Hmmmm....the Christmas light box is perfect for me to hang out!

The perfect Christmas picture!

Mr. and Miss Clause work on some tummy time

Being entertained by the Night Before Christmas story telling bear...

Why is this bear talking to us?

We love spending time in the jumperoo!

The perfect sister moment!

That's right - We've found our piggies!

Come on Austin....I can only hold onto these things for so long!

Cassie's first trip to the Children's Museum

I had the opportunity to have some one on one time with just Cassie today, as mama stayed home with the twins so that I could take Cassie to the Children's Museum here for the first time.  We spent a little over two hours there roaming from room to room having all sorts of fun learning and seeing new things.  Overall all, I think that her favorite place was the "mining" activity, but of course, anything with water will keep her captivated!  Here are a few photos from our great day!

Check out this cool instrument that you get to hit with paddles!

The numerous fish tanks were a huge point if interest

Giving "high 5's" to the resident gecko!

Checking out the sleepy chinchilla and hugs for the painted cow...

Making friends with the many turtles

And taking a minute to see what it's like to live in a turtle shell!

Imagine she had to power our home TV like this?

Playing with the lego levers....

And meeting some VERY tall new friends!

Doing a little mining....I think that there is GOLD in here!

Speaking 'dinosaur' to the resident baby T-Rex

Taking a minute to learn to drive a Safari Jeep (nothing like starting 'em young!)
